Thursday, January 18 -THE SECOND CARVING VENUE AT MONTE BONDONE
A perfect situation this time at Monte Bondone, the intense snowfall of the last days turned Trento's skiarea into a Canadian Skiresort, the sun makes it easier to support the temperature. The race course is in perfekt conditions due to the hard working staff. Mauro Robustelli, the official course setter prefered to lower the start of about twenty meters in order to avoid last years 20 turns. There will be also 3 bumps, and than the difficult tactical parts, because there will be turns with 3 or 2 buoys, long Robustelli-turns and vertical combinations. Last year's winners at Monte Bondone were Marco Pastore (GER) and Alessandra Merlin (ITA). Only a second place for Gianluca Grigoletto (Rovereto), who after his 7 position in the opening race, today will do everything to win. His eternal rival, since the 2005's Cup Victory is Roberto Boselli, winner at Folgarida. The top ten (Aaron Nider, Ivan Eggenberger, Bostjan Groselj, Thomas Bergamelli) will have to pay attention to the two new entries of Folgarida (Miha Malus, Slo and Maurilio Alessi, Ita). The women's competition is always dominated by Alessandra Merlin (Ita), leaving not too much space to the other as Melanie Buergener (SUI), Vanja Celigoj (Slo) and Ana Teuc (Slo). Today 2 qualifying runs will be held beginning at 10.30. The best 30 men and 10 women will qualify to tomorrow's semifinal. As usual near the arriving area can be found the Toyota 4x4 Skitour Village.
