ROCCARASO - THE SIXTH VENUE

Good suisse performance, Boselli tries to chase them

23 february 2008. - As expected the team from Switzerland showed a good will to win tomorrow's final of the 6th season's venue on the Gravare Corte at Roccaraso. Today both of the qualifying runs were won by Ivan Eggenberger, second Marco De Martin (Sappada) always good for a top performance. Third the leader of the general ranking René Stössel, followed by his team mate (Stöckli Carving Team) Simon Bär. Roberto Boselli, the only Italian that may aspire to the crystal cup gained a fifth position, immediately before Gianluca Grigoletto, fighting with a back ache. No surprises in the women's competition. Alessandra Merlin signed the best result, followed by the Slovenian Ana Teuc, who was able to beat the Suisse Melanie Bürgener. With Francesca Deambrogio ill home, the only other Italian able to enter the semifinal was Marcella Vantini. 17 the turns set by the official course setter Mauro Robustelli (SUI), 3 the jumps, 3 the bumps and one double parabolic curve, to entertain the public in the arrival zone.

Tomorrow's semifinal is scheduled for 11.30, but it is possible that the jury anticipates the start because of the high temperatures.

The race will be broadcasted on SkySport3 on Tuesday at 20.30 and repeated a couple of times during the week.
