The course changed but not the result
Second victory both for Melanie Buergener and Thomas Bergamelli

Both winners of the opening in Monte Bondone could confirm their first places during the second venue this morning on the Colomion I, in Bardonecchia.
The course and also the setting were completely different from the last event, and that confirms the particularly good shape of both athletes. Melanie (RTC Carving Team) talks about luck, but Thomas (Texcart) knows exactly that his new material (Stoeckli) has something to do with it.

There could be some truth, as his brother Giancarlo, using the same material, gained place two. The third position went, after his second place in Mt. Bondone, again to a surprising Matteo Vatua.

Alessandra Merlin, trying to get out of her down, even returned to her Nava skies but the result didn't change. Second place for her. On the third position another Swiss athlete, Jeanette Arnold, Ana Teuc only 5th because of a little mistake, behind even of Spela Turk (4th).
The teams ranking has been won by Stoeckli, second CTI-Columbia and third Colmar, the team of Gianluca Grigoletto, who after a line mistake, arrived just in the 9th position.

Because of the hard weather conditions the race was run with a reduced formula: after the two qualifying runs, the final has been run immediately. In spite of all the problems with the fresh snow (80cm in 48hrs) the ground has been perfectly prepared by the local staff of Bardonecchia.
The finals will be broadcasted on SkySport 2, on Wednesday at 12.30 and Friday at 17.30.
The next appointment is for February 7th and 8th in San Martino di Castrozza for the World Challenge.
