Fis Carving Cup - SPEED CARVING Renè Stössel e Martina Giunti won the race 10 th January 2010 Monte Bondone (TN) - Slalom Carving Italians won in both categories (man and woman)of the slalom carving that has disputed this morning on the slope Palon of Monte Bondone. Martina Giunti and Marco De Martin won the competition that has been delayed, to get ready and well prepared the slope which was "hit" from 20 centimeters of snow, fallen during the night. In the second run of the qualifications almost all of the athletes succeeded to improve the actual performances. It was really strange to did not see Gianluca Grigolettos name under the finalists, who was pained by his usual back problem. But anyway he did not loose too much points against his direct rivals of the general ranking, Thomas and Giancarlo Bergamelli and Renè Stössel. The fog that potted the slope in the grand final after the first 3 athletes come down, gave Daniel Bellardini the canche to walk for the first time on the podium. Good race also for Emanuele Bagatti, Iwich arrived forth, before the slovak Miha Groselj. Only seventh Giancarlo Bergamelli, a position before his brother Thomas, while Renè Stössel reached the sixth position. In the ladies category Martina Giunti did'nt have rivals for this weekend. After the victory achieved yesterday in the Speed Carving, also today succeeded to confirm her supremacy. The young, twenty-year-old, lady detached Giorgia Bortolotti and Stefania Burba. For the first time after the competitions the Swiss Melanie Bürgener was not able to ascend on the podium, she reached the fourth place before Stefania Malagnini. The general ranking now became short with only four athletes in arena for the final victory. Melanie Buergener is first with 410 points, 40 in more than Martina Giunti, while Burba and Bortolotti pursue respectively with 335 and 330 points. Thomas Bergamelli still takes the red leader bib with 332 points, but Giancarlo is very close, detached only 12 points. With the victory of today Marco De Martin, 32 years old, has ascended to the third place with 305 points, while Renè Stössel went down to the fourth with 302 points. This weekend we had the secont victory of the Colmar Carving Team, whose athletes today ran with the black stripe on her arms because of the death of Dr. Colombo, founder of the company “Colmar”. Second place tfor Texcart Team of De Martin and Bellardini, while the Stöckli preceded on the third place the Slovenijan team. Next appointment 30 and 31 January in Bardonecchia for the third stage. There it will be also the promotional village Renault Koleos Skitour with R101, Tooway, Blackberry, apparel 48,10 and the italian association Skiman. For all there will be the possibility to experience on snow-covered route the new Renault Koleos Carving Cup. The competition will be transmitted from Sky Sport 2 next Friday at 12,30 pm.
