December, 2009‚ Sestriere (ITA)
This morning the Swiss Melanie Bürgener and Renè
Stöessel won the Carving slalom, first competition
of the season, on the snows of Sestriere.
It was a good beginning for the swiss athletes. The Fis
Carving cup 2009/2010 began this morning on the snows
of Sestriere with the speciality of the Carving slalom.
Melanie Bürgener and Renè Stössel awarded
the competition at the conclusion of a very exhiting final
run. The Champion was better than Stefania Burba and Martina
Giunti, and Renè left behind Thomas Bergamelli
and Gianluca Grigoletto. The slalom carving has been disputed
on the slope Kandahar Agnelli , very well prepared from
the men of the Sestriere Spa: hard and solid ground on
a racetrack of twenty turns , setted from the swiss Mauro
Robustelli.
Also the first Italian Cup competition
took place. The winner of the Children category are Carlotta
Poncet and Lorenzo Pan.
Tomorrow morning the new speciality named Speed Carving
will start. The difference to the traditional competition
is that there will be only one buoy for turn, therefore
only the time will establish the ranking. The distance
between the buoyes increases and also the speed will be
superior. It will start at 10 am with the two qualifying
runs and after there will be the final run.
For the public entertainment tomorrow the Renault Koleos
Skitour Village will open. With the booths of some sponsors
and the entertainment of R101 deejays. For everyone
the opportunity to make a test drive with the new Renault
Koleos Carving Cup.
